AI Crypto Data Reconciliation: A Prompt That Requests Evidence and Invalidation
Two sources disagree on volume, OI or price. An AI can do the comparison quickly — if the prompt makes it list definitions before declaring a winner.
Short answer
An AI data-reconciliation prompt should name both sources, the field, the market and the time window, and ask the AI to list each source's definition (venue coverage, units, timezone, candle boundaries, spot vs perp) before comparing numbers. It should compute the difference in absolute and percentage terms, list plausible causes ranked by evidence, and say what additional data would settle it. Reject answers that pick a 'correct' source without explaining definitions.
The prompt
| Part | Text to include |
|---|---|
| Sources | 'Source A vs source B.' |
| Field | '24h volume, ETHUSDT perp.' |
| Window | '00:00–24:00 UTC, 16 Oct.' |
| Definitions first | 'Venues, units, timezone, candle alignment for each.' |
| Diff and causes | 'Absolute/% difference; causes ranked by evidence.' |
