AI Crypto Market-Regime Research: A Prompt That Requests Evidence and Invalidation
Regime labels — trending, ranging, volatile — are only useful if they are defined. A prompt can make the AI apply a definition rather than invent one.
Short answer
An AI market-regime prompt should give a regime definition (e.g. trend = ADX above 25 and price beyond the 50-EMA; high volatility = ATR percentile above 80) and ask the AI to classify a named market and window using closed-bar values. It should ask how long the current regime has lasted, what the last change looked like, and what readings would signal a change. Reject answers that assign a regime without values or switch definitions mid-answer.
The prompt
| Part | Text to include |
|---|---|
| Definition | 'Trend: ADX > 25 and close beyond 50-EMA.' |
| Volatility | 'ATR(14) percentile over 1 year.' |
| Market | 'BTCUSDT perp, 4H, venue A.' |
| History | 'How long has the regime lasted?' |
| Change | 'Readings that signal a regime change.' |
