ChartsPod ETHUSDT Charts: Pair Price, Quote Volume and Market Type

ETHUSDT charts show a price, a volume and a market type. Each can be misread: price as ETH's value in USD, quote volume as base volume, spot as perp.

Short answer

On an ETHUSDT chart in ChartsPod, price is ETH quoted in USDT on that venue, not a dollar index; volume can be shown in ETH (base) or USDT (quote), which differ by roughly the price; and the chart may be spot or perpetual. Confirm the volume unit before comparing with other sources, and the market type before reading funding or OI. ETH's playbook and terminal links use the ETHUSDT symbol.

Pair price

ETHUSDT is ETH priced in USDT on a specific venue. USDT usually trades very close to $1 but is not identical to USD, and each venue's price differs slightly. For cross-venue comparisons, use the same quote currency.

Worked volume example

Illustrative: 10,000 ETH traded at an average $3,000 = 30,000,000 USDT quote volume. If ETH doubles and the same 10,000 ETH trade, quote volume doubles while base volume is unchanged.

Comparing ETHUSDT across sources

When two sites show different ETHUSDT volumes, check unit (ETH or USDT), market type (spot or perp), venue and window (rolling 24h or calendar day). Those four differences explain almost every discrepancy.

For ETH versus BTC comparisons, use quote volume to compare value traded, and base volume only within one asset over time.

Example: a misleading comparison

Illustrative: one site reports ETH 24h volume as 400,000; another reports 1.2 billion. The first is ETH (base) on one venue's spot; the second is USDT (quote) on another venue's perpetual. Neither is wrong, and neither can be compared with the other without converting units and matching markets.
