CHARTSPOD · GETTING STARTED

ChartsPod Getting Started: Choose the Right Exchange and Market

Your first choice in ChartsPod is not an indicator. It is which exchange and which market you are looking at.

Short answer

Start in ChartsPod by choosing the venue you trade (Binance, Bybit, OKX or Hyperliquid), then the market type (spot or perpetual) and the exact contract, including multipliers such as 1000PEPEUSDT. Confirm the venue shown inside each tool you open, because availability is shown per tool. Only then add indicators, order flow and derivatives. If you are researching rather than trading, pick the most liquid market for the asset.

Why market choice comes first

Prices, volume, order books and funding all belong to a specific market. A footprint on spot and funding on a perpetual describe different participants. ChartsPod's market playbooks link each asset to a terminal symbol, and its directory notes that multiplier contracts keep their exact execution symbol.

Control names in the terminal can change between releases. If a label differs from this guide, look for the setting that does the job described.

Example: from asset to contract

Suppose you want to analyse PEPE. On a venue where its perpetual is a multiplier contract, the terminal symbol is 1000PEPEUSDT, and its price is 1,000 times the per-token price. ChartsPod's markets directory keeps such precise execution symbols.

If you compare that chart with a spot pair quoted per token, divide by 1,000 first. If you size a position, size in contracts of 1,000 tokens. Writing "1000x contract" in your notes avoids errors later.

Next steps

  1. Open the BTC playbook at /markets/btc-usdt for context.
  2. Open the terminal on the chosen contract.
  3. Build a workspace (see How to Build a BTC, ETH and SOL Workspace in ChartsPod).
  4. Compare spot and perpetual (see How to Compare Spot and Perpetual Charts in ChartsPod).

Open BTCUSDT and confirm the venue in each tool.

Questions readers ask

Which exchanges does ChartsPod support?

Binance, Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid.

Why do some symbols start with 1000?

Multiplier contracts quote 1,000 units per contract; ChartsPod keeps the exact symbol, e.g. 1000PEPEUSDT.

Do I need an account to start?

No; charting works without one.

Sources and methodology

ChartsPod capabilities were checked against its public overview, documentation index, markets and indicator pages on 17 October 2026. Exact control names inside the terminal can change between releases, so this guide describes what to set and check rather than quoting menu labels. Venue availability is shown per tool in the terminal. Worked examples use illustrative numbers.
