ChartsPod One-Second Candles: Settings to Check Before Your First Analysis
ChartsPod builds one-second bars from public trades. Seconds with no trades are where one-second charts get tricky.
Short answer
ChartsPod states that one-second bars are built from public trades. Check the venue, how seconds with no trades are shown (skipped or flat), the time zone, the volume unit and how many seconds of history load. At one-second resolution many bars are empty or contain one trade, so indicators with fixed lengths cover very short windows (a 14-bar RSI is 14 seconds). Use one-second bars for execution detail, not for multi-hour signals.
What it shows
ChartsPod's public pages list this tool.

Settings to check first
Common first-session mistakes:
- Using minute-scale indicator lengths
- Reading empty seconds as zero-volume trades
- Comparing venues with different trade rates
Worked example
Illustrative: a 20-bar moving average on one-second bars covers 20 seconds. Copying a 20-period setting from a 5-minute chart changes the indicator's meaning completely.
