DEX New-Pool Filters: How to Read the Number Before a Swap

New-pool lists show pools created in the last hours. Filters on liquidity, age and activity decide whether you see launches or noise.

Short answer

CoinGecko's new-pools endpoint lists pools created within the past 48 hours with pool_created_at, reserves and m5–h24 activity; DEX Screener lists tokens after first liquidity and a trade. Before acting on a new pool, filter by minimum liquidity, minimum age (minutes since creation), unique buyers rather than transaction count, and check authorities and LP ownership. Most very new pools are too thin to exit.

Sources and methodology

DEX Screener behaviour comes from its official documentation; pool and token concepts from CoinGecko, Uniswap, Raydium and Solana documentation, as read on 17 October 2026. Examples use illustrative numbers and do not refer to any real token. Nothing here is a recommendation to trade any token.

  1. CoinGecko API: New pools by network — pools created within past 48 hours; pool_created_at; m5–h24 metrics.
  2. DEX Screener: Token listing — listing after first liquidity and trade; supply inputs.
