DEX Screener for Cross-Exchange Price Comparison: What It Can and Cannot Cover
DEX Screener shows every pool its indexers find for a token, with price, liquidity and volume. It is a pool-comparison tool, not a CEX comparison tool.
Short answer
DEX Screener's token-pairs data lists a token's pools across DEXes on a chain, each with priceUsd, priceNative, liquidity and volume; priceUsd and liquidity can be null. That makes it useful for comparing a token's price between pools. It doesn't show centralised-exchange books. ChartsPod covers Binance, Bybit, OKX and Hyperliquid markets. Compare pools only when liquidity is known, and treat CEX vs DEX gaps as needing costs, timing and bridge/transfer checks.
Coverage
| Field | Comparison use |
|---|---|
| priceNative | Price in quote token |
| priceUsd (nullable) | USD comparison when known |
| liquidity.usd (nullable) | Weight the comparison |
| dexId | Which DEX |
Pitfalls
Pools with null liquidity can't be weighted; pools quoted in different tokens need conversion. Several DEX Screener endpoints are rate-limited (60 requests per minute for some), so bulk comparisons need pacing.
