DEX Screener Token Profiles: History Limits - Avoid Silent Gaps
Token-profile endpoints list the latest profiles and recent updates. Earlier versions of a profile aren't kept, so changes are only visible if you stored them.
Short answer
DEX Screener's token-profiles endpoints (latest and recent updates) return current profile fields with no timestamps in the documented schema and no history. A changed website link or description replaces the old one without a record. To track changes, poll at a fixed interval, store each version with retrieval time, and diff fields; log failed polls so a change during a gap is dated by the gap's boundaries.
Documented limits
| Limit | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Profile history | Not provided | Store versions |
| Timestamps | Not in schema | Use retrieval time |
| Nullable fields | header, description, links | Empty ≠ removed |
| Rate limit | 60/min | Polling interval |

- Profile edits between polls
- Null fields read as removals
- Failed polls hiding change times
- Only latest version stored
Example
Illustrative: a project's website link changed; with a logged failed poll, the change could only be dated within a 10-minute window — still useful for checking announcements.
