Long-Short Position Ratios in Crypto: How to Read the Data With Price Context

The position ratio weights by position size. It shows where the money is leaning among top traders, not how many traders lean each way.

Short answer

Binance's top-trader long/short position ratio weights by position size among top traders, so a few large positions dominate it; the account ratio counts each account once. In price context, a falling position ratio during a rally means large traders are reducing longs or adding shorts while price rises; combined with a rising account ratio (smaller top traders chasing), it suggests distribution from large to smaller accounts.
