LP Ownership Concentration: How to Read the Number Before a Swap
If one wallet owns most of a pool's liquidity, that wallet decides how deep the pool stays. Concentration is a liquidity risk.
Short answer
LP ownership concentration measures how much of a pool's liquidity belongs to the largest providers. When one wallet (often the deployer) holds most LP positions, it can remove liquidity and leave the pool thin. Before a swap, check the share of the largest LP holders, whether their positions are locked, and on concentrated-liquidity pools, whose positions cover the current price.
What the number means
| Reading | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| Top LP > 80% | Single-party liquidity |
| Top LP locked | Protected until unlock |
| Many LPs | More resilient depth |
| Active-range owner | Who supplies depth now |

Example
Illustrative: the deployer owns 86% of LP tokens, unlocked. Removing it would cut liquidity from $500,000 to about $70,000.

Sources and methodology
DEX Screener behaviour comes from its official documentation; pool and token concepts from CoinGecko, Uniswap, Raydium and Solana documentation, as read on 17 October 2026. Examples use illustrative numbers and do not refer to any real token. Nothing here is a recommendation to trade any token.
- Uniswap: Concentrated liquidity — active liquidity within price ranges.
- CoinGecko onchain API: Top pools by token address (pool schema) — pool fields and nullability (fdv_usd, market_cap_usd, reserve_in_usd).
