Pin-Bar Rejection Backtest in Crypto: Fees, Slippage and Break-Even Costs

A pin bar has a long wick and small body, read as rejection. Its definition — wick-to-body ratio and close position — sets everything.

Short answer

A pin-bar rejection rule enters after a bar with a long wick (e.g. at least 2× the body) and a close in the opposite third of its range, usually at a level. Wick definitions vary, and on crypto perps, wicks are often liquidation-driven. Define the ratio and close position, require a location, use next-bar fills, set the stop beyond the wick and compute break-even cost; long wicks mean wide stops and smaller size.
