Time-and-Sales Aggression Filter Backtest in Crypto: Fees, Slippage and Break-Even Costs

A time-and-sales aggression filter requires a burst of aggressive trades before entry. It needs trade-level data and realistic timing to test.

Short answer

An aggression filter allows entries only when buy-aggressor volume in the last N seconds exceeds a threshold (or a ratio to sell-aggressor volume). Testing needs trade-level data with aggressor flags, a defined window and threshold scaled to the market, and fills after the burst with slippage that reflects fast conditions. Compare with the unfiltered strategy on the same signals and compute break-even cost.
