AI Crypto Funding Analysis: A Prompt That Requests Evidence and Invalidation
Funding numbers are easy to misquote: wrong interval, wrong venue, predicted instead of settled. A precise prompt prevents most errors.
Short answer
An AI funding-analysis prompt should name the venues and contracts, ask for settled funding history over a window (with each venue's interval and an 8-hour-equivalent conversion), the current predicted rate with time to settlement, OI in coins over the same window and price context. Ask for what the funding level implies about crowding and what would show it resolving (funding normalising, OI dropping). Funding intervals differ (Hyperliquid pays hourly), so conversions must be explicit.
The prompt
| Part | Text to include |
|---|---|
| Scope | 'BTC perps on venues A and B, last 7 days.' |
| History | 'Settled funding per settlement, with interval.' |
| Conversion | 'Convert all to 8h-equivalent and annualised.' |
| Current | 'Predicted rate and time to next settlement.' |
| Context | 'OI (coins), price; signs of crowding resolving.' |
Evidence to require
Red flags in the output
- Hourly and 8h rates compared without conversion
- Predicted rate treated as settled
- Single venue presented as 'the market'
- Annualised spike presented as yield

Why specify funding intervals?
Venues pay at different intervals; rates aren't comparable otherwise.

Ask for both, clearly labelled.
What shows crowding resolving?
Funding normalising and OI falling.
