AI Crypto Trend Research: How to Check Timestamps Before Trusting the Answer
Trend descriptions drift with the window. 'Uptrend' over 30 days and 'downtrend' over 5 days can both be true — the timestamps decide which the AI meant.
Short answer
Before trusting an AI trend answer, require the window (start and end time), the timeframe, the definition used, and the time of the last closed bar included. Two answers that disagree often just used different windows. Check that the end of the window is close to the fetch time; a trend computed on data ending yesterday may already be outdated. Reject trend labels without a window.
Timestamps the answer must carry
| Value | Timestamp to require | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Window | Start and end time | Defines 'trend' |
| Timeframe | Bar size | Changes the picture |
| Last bar | Close time | Freshness |
| Definition | Rule used | Testability |
Checks before trusting it
Worked example
Illustrative: the AI called the trend 'up' using daily bars through 15 October; the answer was fetched on 17 October after a two-day drop. The window ended before the move.
