Cross-Exchange Funding Differences: Units and Time Windows That Change the Result
Funding differences between exchanges depend on intervals and on which settlement times you compare. Mismatched windows create gaps that aren't there.
Short answer
Comparing funding across exchanges needs two alignments: interval (hourly vs 4h vs 8h) and settlement time. Venue A's 08:00 settlement covers 00:00–08:00, while an hourly venue's last payment covers only 07:00–08:00. Sum the hourly venue's payments over the same eight hours before comparing. Comparing one hourly print with one 8-hour settlement — even after multiplying by 8 — mixes different windows and premiums.
Window alignment
| Venue | Interval | Compare using |
|---|---|---|
| A | 8h | Settlement 08:00 |
| B | 1h | Sum of 01:00–08:00 payments |
| C | 4h | 04:00 + 08:00 settlements |
