Long-Short Account Ratios in Crypto: Units and Time Windows That Change the Result

An account ratio of 2.0 means two long accounts for every short account — not twice as much long exposure. The unit is accounts.

Short answer

Binance's global long/short account ratio compares the number of accounts net long with those net short (2.0 means about 66.7% of accounts are long). It says nothing about position size: many small long accounts and a few large short accounts give a high ratio with net short exposure. The top-trader account ratio limits the population to the top 20% by margin. Use periods (5m–1d) consistently and history is about 30 days.
