Long-Short Position Ratios in Crypto: Units and Time Windows That Change the Result

Position ratios weight by size among top traders. They're closer to exposure, but still a subset and a snapshot per period.

Short answer

Binance's top-trader long/short position ratio compares long and short position sizes held by the top 20% of accounts by margin. It's more exposure-like than account ratios, but excludes most accounts, uses period snapshots, and history is about 30 days. Compare with account ratios: divergence (many small accounts long, large accounts short) is often more informative than either alone. Keep periods consistent.
