Options Delta-Hedging Scenarios in Crypto: How to Read the Data With Price Context

Delta hedging offsets an option's directional exposure with the underlying. Scenarios show how the hedge must change as price moves.

Short answer

A position long 10 BTC of 60,000 calls with delta 0.5 has +5 BTC of directional exposure; shorting 5 BTC of perps neutralises it. If price rises and delta becomes 0.62, exposure is +6.2 BTC, so the hedge must grow to 6.2 BTC short — selling into rallies and buying into dips for a long-gamma position. Each adjustment costs fees, and perp hedges pay or receive funding. Model scenarios at several price levels before relying on a hedge.
