DEX Pool Liquidity: Why Two Dashboards Can Show Different Values

Two dashboards can show different liquidity for the same pool. Pricing of each side, update timing and concentrated-liquidity treatment explain most gaps.

Short answer

Pool liquidity in USD depends on how each token is priced (which pools or feeds), when the value was cached, and for concentrated pools whether total or active liquidity is shown. DEX Screener's liquidity.usd and CoinGecko's reserve_in_usd are both nullable and can differ for these reasons. Before trusting either, check raw token reserves, the time of each reading and whether one side is unpriced.

Sources and methodology

DEX Screener behaviour comes from its official documentation; pool and token concepts from CoinGecko, Uniswap, Raydium and Solana documentation, as read on 17 October 2026. Examples use illustrative numbers and do not refer to any real token. Nothing here is a recommendation to trade any token.

  1. DEX Screener: API reference — token and pair endpoints, nullable fields, rate limits.
  2. CoinGecko onchain API: Top pools by token address (pool schema) — pool fields and nullability (fdv_usd, market_cap_usd, reserve_in_usd).
  3. Uniswap: Concentrated liquidity — active liquidity within price ranges.
